Meet Dr. Discavage

Leon R. Discavage grew up in northern New Jersey and got his undergraduate education at Seton Hall University, in South Orange, N.J. He then attended Georgetown University, School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C., where he received his "Doctor of Dental Surgery" degree in 1969. After serving two years in the Army Dental Corps, including a one year tour of duty in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, he returned to the MD., D.C. area. He accepted a teaching position at Georgetown University, School of Dentistry and set up residence in the Maryland suburbs.
In 1972, he opened his Silver Spring office at its present location for the practice of general dentistry. For 18 years. Dr. Discavage was both an educator and a private practitioner, splitting his time between teaching at Georgetown Dental School and practicing at his office. As of 1989, he has devoted full time to caring for his patients in private practice. Specific goals of his practice are to provide state of the art dental care in a patient friendly environment. Patient's time is respected and a wait of more than 15 minutes is seldom encountered. All staff 'members are trained to provide our family of patients with the best possible dental experience.
Dr. Discavage belongs to numerous dental organizations and regularly attends continuing education courses to remain up-to-date on the newest innovations and state-of-the-art procedures in dentistry. His office employs strict sterilization and disinfection procedures as recommended by federal and state Occupation, Safety and Health Organizations.
Dr. Discavage is married. He and his wife, Sharon, have four wonderful children. He enjoys biking, tennis and snow skiing as well as the usual gardening and yard work. When his youngest child finishes college, he and Sharon would like to spend some time traveling and sight seeing.
